Spherical Harmonic Lighting Demo
My thesis for a B.S. degree is an implementation of Spherical Harmonic Lighting technique.
The aim is to render scenes with shadows in realtime. By deploying spherical harmonic basis for representing the lighting function(as a sphere function) and the transfer function(both visibility and intensity), the huge overhead of the computation can be moved in a stage of pre-computation. Thus in rendering stage, we can achieve realistic shading and shadowing efficiently, typically in real-time.

Two of the demo shows. Feedback is welcome.

We also apply this technique to the digital exhibition of a Terra-cotta warrior.
